KleenOil Pilot Methodology
Smith Sustainability begins a Pilot Program with each prospective KleenOil customer.
To begin the Pilot, KleenOil systems are installed on several pieces of equipment. After installation, oil samples are collected on a predetermined basis (e.g. monthly).
The oil samples are sent to a third-party (Wear-Check) to be analyzed. Smith Sustainability then reviews the results with the customer. The oil analysis quantitatively illustrates the cleanliness levels of the oil and the effectiveness of the KleenOil Filtration.
Above is an example of the oil sample analysis provided for hydraulic oil from a Solid Waste Truck that had KleenOil installed for three months.
The Oil Cleanliness ISO Levels had improved from 21/14 to 16/12 in the first three months with KleenOil. The results also illustrate that:
The Oil Cleanliness ISO Levels had improved from 21/14 to 16/12 in the first three months with KleenOil. The results also illustrate that:
- Particles greater than 4μm have decreased from 232,701 to 5,939
- Particles greater than 6μm have decreased from 17,108 to 621
The photo above is of two hydraulic oil samples collected from two Solid Waste Trucks after three months of use.
- The sample on the left is hydraulic oil taken from a truck that did not have KleenOil installed.
- The sample on the right is of hydraulic oil taken from a unit where a KleenOil system was installed. The oil on the right is visibly cleaner.
